Stand

I don’t think that I can stand it
If that’s the way it’s going to be;
This feels so bad that I can’t tell
If I’m in love or I’m just trying to be
I think we’re messing around, and
I don’t know why we’re staying for more
Are we up, or are we down?
The truth is I don’t know for sure.
I know we’re feeding our egos
And flattering our vanity
But I don’t think that I can stand it
If that’s the way we want it to be
Maybe we really don’t care
We each just want somebody around
We only fight when we’re bored
Or feel like bringing somebody down
Never knowing why we’re doing
Is wearing down my sanity
And I don’t think that I can stand it
If that’s the way it’s going to be
Head on collisions have blurred my vision
And now that I can hardly see
I don’t think that I can stand it
If that’s the way it’s going to be
I don’t think that I can stand it
If that’s the way we want it to be
